Contacted Cap One for GW deletion
I had a few cards with capital one over the years. The last one was closed in 2004. I called two separate departments and no one could pull up my account information. My information is simply not in their system anymore. One person told me they keep the information for 10 years (obviously not true) but the other told me they keep it for 5 years. The information will fall off next year due to SOL so I figure I'll leave it alone. Nonetheless, the thought crossed my mind to dispute it just so they would have to delete it. However, I doubt the deletion of 2 60-day lates from 2004 is really affecting my credit that much these days.

Said goodbye to orchard today!
I've had my orchard card since 2005 and have been paying a $59 AF and have never once had a credit limit increase because the two times I called in to ask for one and they told me it would be a $10 charge to get $100 CLI! I couldn't believe I still had a card with a $300 limit and never been late/over the limit and paying an AF so I called today and asked to have the AF removed, they told me no way they never do that so I said ok cancel it! I was then sent to the department that deals with account closures and the guy there said they would wave it this year if I'd stay, I asked if they would wave the AF permanently and he said no, so I told him unless they could do that I didn't want it... He then started in on this whole line about how they are the ONLY credit card that reports to all 3 CRA's and then told me that I would never be able to get another card like Orchard with credit like mine! WTH! My scores are between 695 and 750! I gave him a piece of my mind and he shut up and closed the account

Should we get rid of dinky credit cards with low limits?
I was wondering... I have several small credit cards, they all pretty much have the same opening date plus or minus a month, but the same year.. My main concern is my friend, she has 19 cards total, and about 15 with limits of no more then 500.00.

BOA Secured
Hi all, I am hoping some of you can help me with my situation. I have had a bank of america secured credit card since august of 2008, it had not even crossed my mind to ask them to turn it into a unsecured line of credit until I came upon these boards. So this morning I called and talked to a lady who was very sweet and said that with the information she had in front of her she saw no reason that I should not apply for the unsecured card but that a decision would take 10-15 business days. I told her that I was very interested but still needed some time to think about it. Is 10-15 business days a normal amount of time to have to wait for something like this? Also, my secured card only has a balance of 300 dollars, which for the most part has been all I would ever need, however should I put more into the account to make make my limit say, 1,000-1,500, before asking become unsecured so that I might have a higher credit limit? Any advice or opinions are greatly appreciated, thanks alot!

Input please!
We worked really hard to get "debt free" and to live within our means. A challenge, but done did it! The challenge was the debt part -- getting out. It's easy enough to live within our means, usually
