I am in the military and will be applying for a position for which I need a top secret security clearance. A few years ago I mis-managed some of my finances, which ended up hurtin my credit. I have since paid off all the overdue amounts and am current on all my finances, however my credit score itself is still less than desirable. Does the actual credit score have an impact on getting granted a security clearance? Or is it just how much debt you have?
