Will lowering a credit line hurt my future credit score?
I'm paying off the balance on a credit card that's only in my name and plan to use it just for emergencies. My husband wants to have the credit limit lowered . I'm worried that asking Citibank to lower it will hurt my credit score (which is quite good) down the road.

I’m debt free..sort of
I'm debt free as of today. I just paid off a $2000 balance on my US Bank Platinum credit card. The largest amount of debt I've ever owed totaled around $42K in the summer of 2007. During that time, BofA dropped my credit line from $12700 to $1500. I worked very hard over the last three years to pay off my credit card debt.

capitol one card
I have the beginner capitol one card where my credit line started at 500, then 1000 and finally went up to 1500 in the credit steps program. I'm wondering does anyone have any experience with this card as far as when i will ever get a credit line increase again? Been a few yrs and ive tried with no luck.

Charge card versus credit card
My wife and I recently boosted our FICO scores above 700. In an attempt to raise our scores to the mid 700s, it occurred to us, because we use Amex extensively to gain points for trips, that as a charge card with no limit, the FICO model sees our spending pattern as maximizing the utilization (78%)of that account.

Really hating First Premier Bank..
I requested a credit line increase a couple days ago and basically got the WE'LL GET BACK TO YOU message. I checked my credit report just now and an Alert popped up informing me that there was a new inquiry added to my credit report.. They pulled TransUnion

Two credit card questions
1) Does requesting a credit line increase affect my credit score? 2) I've been spreading my monthly spending among 3 credit cards because I thought having one that wasn't used is bad, when I just pulled my FICO scores they were very good (Transunion and Equifax were both 797), however Transunion said that having 3 credit card balances was hurting my score even though I pay them off each month?!? Would it be better to spread all my purchases among two cards and just leave the third one open but unused? This seems odd to me, but credit scores are odd to begin with apparently.

Shell Credit Card – Has Anyone Received One Lately
Hi If you did, what kind of credit line did you receive and what were your scores when you applies? I think Citi pulls Experian almost exclusively for this pull. Can you confirm?
